I thrive at the nexus of learning, technology and design.

About

  • Nice to meet you! I’m Jennie Robinson, a learning experience designer with a background in tech and education.

I'm currently in Massachusetts at the Harvard Graduate School of Education studying Learning, Design, Innovation and Technology.

I grew up in the Bay Area in California, though I’ve spent time living in Florida and India.

My dual degrees in Economics and English from Santa Clara University showed me the power of the written word backed by research and data.

I have spent the last few years in tech, as a member of the User Education team at Everlaw.

In 2024 I also earned a graduate certificate in Learning, Design and Technology at Harvard Extension School.

I have a deep appreciation for how ever-changing tech can help people grow, learn and connect.

I’m a lifelong visual artist; I love to draw, paint, and work with textiles.

  • I always put learners at the center of my design process. Solutions that are elegant and effective begin with identifying what people struggle with, and understanding what I can do to ease that discomfort.

I use an Understanding By Design approach that incorporates user testing and data analysis. The result is a beautiful, effective resource that addresses and solves a real need for learning.

I'm also a big believer in Universal Design for Learning, because all learners deserve to experience quality learning in a way they can access.

As part of my work, I have experience with multiple technologies and approaches, including:

    • Editing: Adobe Premiere, Audition, Photoshop and InDesign, Camtasia

    • Communication, CRM: Salesforce, Zendesk, Monday.com, Postal.io, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Strikedeck

    • Mapping/ Lesson Creation: Figma, Workramp

    • Data: SurveyMonkey, Looker

    • Microsoft Suite (docs, powerpoint, excel) and Google Suite (docs, slides, sheets, sites, jamboards)

  • I am always up for a new challenge, whether it’s taking my work to the next level by leading webinars attended by hundreds or adopting and caring for rescue animals (I’ve got three formerly feral kitties).

I enjoy finding new ways to be creative. Curiosity and persistence are common themes in my interests when it comes to decorating my space (I love to restore things!), finding joy in creating community with people I love, or seeking out new ways to challenge myself with learning design.

  • I love working on a team; collaboration is a cornerstone of what I do.

I thrive in an environment built on authentic relationships with my peers, SMEs, and stakeholders to ensure that our solutions serve audiences across the business.

I have spent years working with clients who know what they want, and need it quickly. Working with people to find the most efficient and effective way to instruct is what I do best.

What people are saying

“Jennie’s ability to develop strong relationships with customer organizations, and to deliver impactful learning experiences is a great area of strength.

Placing what’s best for users first is core to all of the work we do in the world of user education, and Jennie has consistently shown a willingness to go above and beyond to ensure that our users have the best possible experience.

Greg Thorne, Director of User Education @ Everlaw

“[Jennie’s] film was among my favorites of the screening, showing the power of a clever juxtaposition, and using this platform to really say something worthwhile. [Her] clip sourcing was very impressive and [she] somehow managed to make it incredibly cohesive despite the various resolutions, framerates, etc. It was an extremely effective montage. Bravo.

[Jennie was] such a bright spot in the class - always paying attention, offering helpful feedback, chiming in with astute comments and questions, and being an all around wonderful student. I'm so happy I got a chance to work with [her] and hope this class is simply the first of many that will keep you on this artistic journey.”

Professor Allyson Sherlock, Video Editing and Design @ Harvard Extension School

“Jennie is an amazing and considerate trainer who always puts users and their needs first when planning and delivering training sessions. I could say more, but I think one of our own users said it best, ‘I think Jennie is the best trainer that I’ve listened to so far’.

Michelle Beer, Team Lead @ Everlaw

“Jennie recently conducted training for a strategically-important, federal-adjacent customer. The customer left the training positively thrilled. No doubt this is because Jennie went out of her way to conduct detailed discovery before the actual training to ensure she understood the customers backstory and the context of our engagement.

Jennie exhibits phenomenal respect for users in her personal and academic study of compassion and empathy, and we as a team are all made better for it!”

Samuel Seligman, Senior Customer Success Manager, Federal Team @ Everlaw

Jennie was a great instructor. Clear, concise, and it was easy to follow her breakdown of each component inside the review panel. Super professional and knowledgeable.

Marissa, Attorney at a Major American Law Firm

Jennie is a phenomenal trainer. She was very patient and took the time to make sure I understood what she was teaching me.”
